How do I create a point system?
Edited

The points system is a way to make your customers/members even more loyal to your store/chain. In Diller, there are many different ways to use points as benefits.

The most common points system are:

  1. Standard bonus ladder: Bronze - Silver - Gold

  2. Bonus ladder with various membership benefits

  3. Recurring coupon

  4. Points as currency

Standard bonus ladder

The standard bonus ladder is inspired by the aviation and hotel industry; you get different discount levels / benefits as you climb the ladder. For example: Bronze – 5% discount, Silver – 10% discount, Gold – 15% discount. Qualification period and point life can be asynchronous, but most programs keep them equal in 1, 2 or 3 years duration. A member must within each qualifying period earn the necessary points to achieve the same status. You must decide whether the member will receive the discount with each purchase, once, or if they should receive X number of coupons within each level.

Step 1 | Create member levels

Go to "Settings", and then "Point system" in the menu above.

In the top right corner, you can choose to activate or deactivate the points system.

Remember to click Save at the bottom right after you have activated/deactivated.

You can choose how long the qualifying period should be, and how long it takes before the points expire at the very top.

In addition, you can choose the names of the various levels yourself, as well as how many points your members must earn to reach the various levels. Then you click on points and this menu will pop up.

If you want more levels, you can click on "Add more levels +".

When you are satisfied with the score ladder, click "Save".

Step 2 | Create coupons linked to the membership levels

Once you've set up the points system the way you want it, you need to create coupons for the benefits you want your members to receive at each point level.

  1. Click on "Add coupon" and create a Standard coupon.

  2. Enter the title, description, coupon type and the discount as for a normal coupon.

  3. Then, you must select "Membership level" to the correct membership level that you created under "settings" -> Points system:

It is important that you then set points to 0. Because as long as you have set the membership level to for example Silver, which is then 100 points, they will need 100 points (ie USD100 spent) to get this coupon.

If you set the membership level to silver, and thus points also to USD100, then the members must first spend NOK 1,000 to get to the silver membership, and thus another USD100 before they get this coupon.

Remember to create a coupon for each of the levels you have in your points system.

Bonus ladder with various membership benefits

This variant is quite similar to the bronze, silver and gold levels, but with different names. This model is most often used by online stores to provide a good customer experience.

Step 1 | Create the membership levels

Go to "Settings", and then "Point system" in the left menu.

In the top right corner, you can choose to activate or deactivate the points system.

Remember to press Save at the bottom right after you have activated/deactivated.

You can choose how long the qualifying period should be, and how long it takes before the points expire at the very top.

In addition, you can choose the names of the various levels, as well as how many points your members must earn to reach the various levels. To do this, click on points and a menu will pop up where you can change the name and points required for one of the levels.

If you want more levels, you can press "Add more levels +".

When you are satisfied with the score ladder, click "Save".

Step 2 | Create a coupon linked to the membership levels

See the same step under "Standard Bonus ladder" above here.

Recurring coupon

This means that for every X USD spent, you get a voucher or percentage discount on your next purchase. For example, for every 100 USD spent, you get 10 USD off.

Step 1 | Activate the points system

Go to "Settings", and then "Point system" in the menu above.

In the top right corner, you can choose to activate or deactivate the points system.

Then remove all member levels associated with the points system.

Step 2 | Create a recurring coupon

Press "Add coupon" in the menu on the left.

Select "Recurring coupon" on the right, as well as how long it should be valid from when the customer has received it.

Add titledescription and what type of coupon it is.

Membership level must be left blank.

Under "Points" you enter how many points a customer must have accumulated to get the coupon.

Under "Can be used", set "Unlimited". In this way, customers will be able to earn the coupon several times. For example; For every 200 USD you receive a voucher for 10 USD off.

Set the start and end date, and choose a list if the coupon should be limited to some members.

Should the coupon be linked to one or more specific products? Enter the ProductIDs at the bottom.

Upload a photo if desired.

Click "Save coupon".

Points as currency

This means that for every X USD spent, you get a voucher or percentage discount on your next purchase. The difference from a recurring coupon is that this coupon costs points, and the coupon will not be multiplied. For example: For every 200 points you get a voucher of 10 USD off. If this is used, the member will be deducted 200 points.

Step 1 | Activate the points system

See the same step under "Recurring coupon".

Step 2 | Create the coupon

Press "Add coupon" in the menu on the left.

Then, you select "Standard coupon" on the right.

Add title, description and what type of coupon it is.

Membership level must be left blank.

Under "Points" you enter how many points a customer must have accumulated to get the coupon.

Under "Can be used", set "Unlimited". In this way, customers will be able to earn the coupon several times. For example; For every 2000 points you receive a voucher for 10 USD off.

Set the start and end date, and choose a list if the coupon should be limited to some members.

Should the coupon be linked to one or more specific products? Enter the ProductIDs at the bottom.

Upload a photo if desired.

Press "Save coupon".
