MarketingPlatform: Create a Date Field

You can create a date field at any time. A date field can be used for example for birthdate, order date, or event date.

As always when creating a contact field, we start under "Contact Fields" - "Add Fields." First, you should name the field, and choose which list or lists the field should be used on. Then you select which type of field to use - in this case, a date field.

Advanced settings Further down on the left side of the page, you will see a preview of the field. On the right side, you can choose "Advanced," which you can use to define the field's settings.

"Default Value" is a date you can define. So if a contact does not fill out the field, for example in your registration form, you can decide the date the contact should have. In most cases, you should leave this blank. "Date Display Order" defines the order in which the date should appear, for example day - month - year. Some CRM and web systems use a different order, so you have the option to customize the date field in MarketingPlatform. "Start and End Year" defines the range of years that can be selected from.
